(More customer reviews)I have used this type of chlorine feeder for over 20 years and I have to say this one is extremely poor.
This SEEMED like a good deal, but turned out to be pretty much garbage.It looks like the CL220 feeders that I have used from another well known manufacturer for 20 years, but the quality of this knockoff is poor.After only a few weeks use the adjusting valve started to fail and now it has failed altogether.It no longer controls the flow properly at all. It will not shut off at all. In the off position it still chlorinates at about a 70 percent rate resulting in an overchlorinated, unusable pool. In addition the fittings and tubing provided are of poor quality and require lots of teflon tape to control leaks. Also, the lid does not seal well. By the time you tighten the lid enough to stop the leaking, it's extremely difficult remove to recharge the tablets.
The brand name feeders last for years, in less than 45 days this one was junk.
I figured I could work around the leaky fittings and lid if I could just get parts for the control valve.But the literature that came with the unit had no information as to how to obtain product support. I contacted Amazon, who replied propntly, but the manufacturer's website they provided was a dead end and the telephone number provided was in Australia. There is NO reasonable product support or parts availability.
In short: you get what you pay for.I recommend that you resist the urge to save money by purchasing this dog and go ahead and spring for the real thing, you'll be glad you did.
